Applied Energy Program at Delaware Tech
Delaware Tech is now offering the first of several planned programs to educate the workforce needed in an emerging green economy. The Applied Energy Education Program will be the first in the state of Delaware to provide comprehensive consumer education and entry level and continuing professional education to the wide variety of professionals and technicians whose work affects the type and quantity of energy we consume and ultimately the economic, security, environmental, and health outcomes we experience. Planned program offerings include:
- Associate Degrees to train energy managers and "green power" technicians;
- Certifications in areas such as renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, geothermal), energy management, energy assessment and cost analysis, green building design and construction, hybrid and electric transportation, ammonia refrigeration, and industrial maintenance;
- Workshops on a variety of energy topics for technicians, facility managers, residential energy users, and specialized industries such as poultry and cold storage.
