Delaware Tech 2008 Summer Camps

The Camps program represents one of the fastest growing initiatives at the Stanton/Wilmington Campus. Our signature program “Camp on Campus” allows children to explore a variety of enrichment activities throughout the summer while experiencing the college environment. Each program has been designed to be educational and entertaining and is staffed by experienced educators and camp counselors.

Camp-On-Campus for ages 5-12
What is Camp-on-Campus?
Students ages 5-12 join us at the Stanton or Wilmington campus for indoor classroom activities, outdoor athletic games, and afternoon field trips! Limitless on campus activities give your child a rewarding learning experience at Delaware Tech while guaranteeing a summer filled with excitement and fun! Afternoon field trips included in price. Extended Care Option available.
(All five year olds must have completed kindergarten)

Academic Camps for ages 9-12

American Sign Language Camp
Campers will increase their communication skills by learning basic American Sign Language. Knowledge of sign language will be developed through hands on activities and lessons about the unique culture of Deaf individuals.

Computer Kids Camp
Using state of the art college computer facilities, campers will participate in various computer-related activities using kid-friendly websites and Microsoft Office applications. Practice typing skills, develop a PowerPoint presentation, create digital art, and learn
about Internet safety. Campers will leave camp with a list of kid-safe websites for them to explore further on their own.

Rock Climbing Camp
Under the supervision of experienced climbers, learn the basics of climbing, including a detailed lesson on climbing safety. Campers
will spend two days learning the basics at the Delaware Tech gym and spend three days at University of Delaware climbing up the rock walls! All equipment provided.

Counselor In Training Camp
Training includes basic instruction in first aid, conflict resolution,
peer mediation, activity management, and leadership skills. Training
is offered in 2 blocks: I - Basic and II - Advanced. Upon successful completion of each block, the Delaware Tech Counselor-In-Training Certification will be awarded. Fee: $350 Block I / $350 Block II

Sibling Discount Policy
Camps 2008

Sibling Discount Details:

  • When two or more children are enrolled in the same week for camp; parents can apply for a sibling discount
  • In order to apply for the sibling discount, parents or guardians must submit a sibling discount application
  • The application will require address and demographic information and parents or guardians must sign the application validating that the children are siblings

Sibling Discount Fee Structure:

  • The available discount is as follows:
    • First child is at full fee rate of $170 plus any extended care or transportation option fees
    • Second child enrolled (in same camp week) will be provided a rate of $155 (a $15 discount) plus any extended care or transportation option fees, upon receipt of a sibling discount application
    • If a third child or more is enrolled (in same camp week as first and second sibling), the same rate of $155 will be applied plus any extended care or transportation fees, also pending submission of the sibling discount application

Additional details:

  • The discount can be received weekly as long as siblings continue to enroll together each week; the discount is only applicable if siblings are enrolled together each week
  • If a registration is received via fax or mail for a set of siblings
    to attend camp; the camp secretary will follow up by sending the sibling discount application to the family
  • The parent or guardian requesting the discount must return
    the sibling discount application prior to or with the final payment made for camp fees
  • Applications cannot be prorated or provided for prior camp years
  • If applying for a scholarship, the sibling discount does not apply.
