Installing Visual Basic 5

• Copy vb5pro directory from Microsoft Select CD disk to server
• Get a clean install system
• sysdiff /snap a snapshot
• Share into vb5pro directory created above, run setup.exe
• Select all options, then deselect Crystal Reports
  (It kept insisting on registering so I axed it.)
• Move VB5 start menu directory from Common Start Menu dir to Profiles/All Users directory.
• Change "Start In" directory entry for VB5 shortcut to F:\
• sysdiff /diff a snapshot file

Permissions

I found the following permissions need to be set:

• C:\Program Files\DevStudio\VB\vbonline\
  Change : If Read, Books Online don't work (can't create lock file)
• C:\Program Files\DevStudio\VB\vbonline\VBONLINE.MDB
  Change : If R/O, Books Online won't work
