NOTICELab Software for Summer/Fall SemestersIf you have any software that you need to be loaded into any computer labs for this Summer or Fall Semester, please enter a work order and deliver a copy of the software if applicable to Computer Services before April 21. We require at least six weeks advanced notice (except as noted below) to arrange the logistics, test compatiblilty, ensure license complaince, etc, before we do the actual installation during the downtime between classes. Faculty that will be away for the Summer should ensure that any requests for Fall Semester are submitted before they leave for the Summer. Be advised that some textbook CDs require software to be installed before they will work. Sometimes installing software from a textbook CD causes other programs on a computer to fail due to compatibility reasons. Therefore, please also get us copies of textbook CDs to use at least six weeks before needed so we can ensure they will work properly. The advanced notice requirement is reduced to two weeks before end of a semester if the software has the "Designed for Windows XP" graphic on it. (Note, this is not the same as "compatible" with XP). If a program is designed properly, we are less likely to run into compatibility problems and can get the software deployed fairly quickly. For more information on what the XP logo program is, see:
