Provides each course a private and secure system for communication that functions similarly to email including allowing attachments. Keep in mind that Messages cannot be sent or received outside of the users in the course. Messages remain inside Blackboard. They do not use the College Webmail service.
Messages are usually accessed through the Communications area of a course. As with most features, the instructor can restrict access or change the layout of the Course Menu so that Messages are accessible directly. |

Instructors may create coursework and manage the grades and feedback for each student individually. By creating an assignment that lists the name, point value and description of the assignment, instructors are able to communicate directly with students and collect and return the assignments electronically that are automatically added to the gradebook.
After an assignment is added to a Content Area, students may access the assignment, complete it in a new file, and then send it back to the instructor. The instructor may then in turn respond to each student individually, with comments and file attachments.
After reading and grading the assignment, the instructor then simply goes into the gradebook and inserts the grade in the column that was created when the assignment was added to the course content. |
