A Message from the President
I am delighted to share that the College’s Energy House at the Owens Campus has been awarded LEED Platinum certification by the United States Green Building Council.
The grant is supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA)
The Energy House Construction Project includes construction of a residential style building on the Delaware Technical & Community College, Owens Campus that will be a learning center for alternative and renewable technologies, focusing on renewable energy products usable now in homes and workplaces. The total construction cost of the project is $1,000,000 and is being funded in part by a U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration ARRA funded grant in the amount of $800,000. I hereby certify for Delaware Technical & Community College that the following described ARRA infrastructure investment has received the full review and vetting required by law and that as the authorized representative of Delaware Technical & Community College accepts responsibility that the infrastructure investment for the Energy House Construction Project is an appropriate use of taxpayer dollars.
