POSITION TITLE: Energy Management and Renewable Energy Technology Instructor
PAY GRADE: A00-Salary determined through relevant experience and education

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

(11 Month Position) Three (3) Vacancies (New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties). PLEASE INDICATE COUNTY LOCATION(S) OF INTEREST ON YOUR EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION.

The successful candidate for this instructional position will oversee the development and implementation of new educational offerings in energy management, sustainability, and renewable energy technologies including solar photovoltaic, solar thermal and on-ground wind. Duties include program planning and implementation including development of the curricula, courses, student projects, lab activities and related manuals, and student learning outcomes assessment, in accordance with national standards from organizations such as the Partnership for Environmental Technology Education (PETE), the Advanced Technology Environmental Education Center (ATEEC), and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC). The instructor will actively participate in educational lab facility planning and set-up and collaborate with College staff to acquire equipment through a variety of means. The instructor will teach courses, preparing students with the qualifications, knowledge, and skills to demonstrate industry competencies and meet the growing energy management needs within our community. Industry certifications, or the education and experience necessary to acquire certifications, from nationally recognized organizations such as the National Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, the Building Performance Institute, Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET), and/or the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) are preferred. The instructor may be appointed to serve as a Program Coordinator by the Campus Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Relevant experience should include experience in energy management.

Working knowledge of energy assessment, efficiency and management, and sustainability practices.

Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with a diverse population in a multicultural environment.

Preference will be given to applicants with working knowledge of renewable energy technology installation, operation and maintenance; and experience with instructional program and course development, syllabus construction and student learning outcomes assessment.
