Course Description:
Explore Moscow, the historical capital of the Russian Empire. From czars to dynasties to the Soviet Union, this course will give students the hands-on opportunity to observe and experience Russian culture and traditions. Social and political issues will be discussed while comparing Russian life before and after perestroika. Russian students in Delaware as well as students in Moscow will give personal perspectives on historical and social aspects of today’s Russian society. Students will stay in on-campus dormitories at Russian State University of Tourism and Service, meet with Russian university students, and experience college life from a Russian perspective.
Course Description:
This course is a nursing elective focused on providing culturally competent
healthcare. Prior to departure, students will explore cultural theories and concepts
that influence health beliefs and practices in Central American culture. While
abroad, students will have the opportunity to engage in immersive healthcare and
community projects in local villages in Belize, and will continue to explore cultural
topics and customs through lectures while on-site in San Ignacio.
Course Description:
Journey throughout China, exploring ancient and modern feats of engineering and world renowned cultural landmarks. The program offers students a chance to experience the culture, architecture and other differences between China and the U.S. and explore some of the geographic, economic and human challenges present in Chinese society. In addition to visiting rich cultural sites such as the Great Wall, Forbidden City, and Tienamen Square, students will engage in professional visits in different aspects of the engineering field, and meet with Chinese university students. Participants will also explore the urban planning and design of China’s two
largest cities- Beijing and Shanghai. The group will also travel to the city of Yichang to visit China’s massive Three Gorges Dam and meet with operations engineers.
Course Description:
Come with us to Paris, "The City of Lights." For nearly four centuries it was the very center of the art world. Join us as we explore this magnificent city and find out why many think it still is “fantastiques.” Paris is world renowned for its medieval cathedrals, glorious monuments, historic back streets, incredible museums, and colorful cafes. This study-abroad course will be a focused 3-credit art history course run in distributed format. It will have as its focus the study of key works, movements, or artists associated with the powerful influence France, and Paris, have had on art throughout the centuries. Subjects will range from the grandeur of Notre Dame, and Versailles thru the French Revolution and the beginnings of the grand salons, to the impressionists, the cubists, and the avant garde. The works will be studied in-place as they are found in the museums and historical sites of Paris and the surrounding region.
Course Description:
Explore the culture and history of ancient Edinburgh, Scotland while learning about law enforcement in Scotland. This course examines and addresses criminal justice systems and institutions in both Scotland and Great Britain. Special emphasis will be placed on comparative issues between the United States and Scotland such as crime rates, the various stages of the criminal justice process and current trends and issues. Students will also explore the cultural and historical site and sounds of the region.

Study abroad in beautiful Seville, capital of Andalucia, and fourth largest city in Spain. With its Spanish Renaissance culture, Seville has become one of the world’s richest cities in history and tradition. Immerse yourself in Spanish life while experiencing a homestay with a Spanish family, learning Spanish language and culture at a local school, and experiencing cultural excursions during the day. Trips will include a tour of Madrid, a look at Cádiz one of the most beautiful beach towns in Spain, as well as Córdoba. Workshops on salsa/flamenco dancing and cooking classes are also included.
