From May 31 to June 18, 2006, students from Delaware Technical & Community College, Northampton Community College, and Howard Community College experienced the wonderful country of Turkey. Students visited Istanbul, Capadocia, Cankiri, and Ankara and observed firsthand the traditions and customs of the Turkish people. Along with visiting historical sites, students had opportunities to visit and socialize with Turkish families. Istanbul University and Ankara University professors lectured to the group on Turkish society, politics, and cultural traditions.
The trip was a truly amazing experience. Learning and being able to experience the culture firsthand was crucial to being able to truly understand Turkey.
