Purpose This event will raise funds for Delaware Tech’s Educational Foundation, developing and strengthening community friendships.

An Evening of Mardi Gras will raise private funds to help our most needy students.  Financial assistance for such needs as the purchase of books and supplies, or the payment of fees or childcare costs can make all the difference for students who are struggling to afford college.  Assistance with these extra educational costs may give the students the support they need to complete their studies and enter the workforce prepared to contribute to our economy and our community.

Need   The College receives significant support from the State of Delaware for financial aid, and our employees and alumni continue to give generously. The funds received from all sources, however, are still insufficient to meet the shortfall between existing financial aid funding and the growing student need.
Benefit The profits from our Mardi Gras event go into an established scholarship fund that is used to offset unmet student financial needs such as the cost of tuition, fees, books, supplies, transportation and childcare.  The College dedicates its resources to help students, and to support the business community by providing programs of instruction that match local employers' needs.  Delaware Tech graduates have made their mark in virtually every       employment field in the state.  Where would we be without them?
