Welcome to the Engineering Technologies Department. The Construction Management program prepares individuals to work in the office/business/project management end of a construction company. A combination of architecture, construction, and business courses provide a solid foundation in the critical skills and knowledge needed by professionals in the construction and related industries. The technical courses provide proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD), construction materials and methods, building services, and the basics of accounting, business management, business law, cost estimating and economics. You will learn systematic problem-solving and scheduling, 2-D Computer Aided Design (CAD), how to prepare, read, and interpret construction drawings, the standards and codes for residential and light commercial design, cost estimating, project planning, contract and specification writing, basic accounting procedures and business management, and management and labor principles. |
