Health oriented programs in three areas are offered: Career Development, Approved Continuing Education and Prevention Wellness. Formats include online education, home study courses as well as the traditional classroom course/workshop/seminar. These continuing education programs offer CEUs and/or contact hours.
Career Development courses offer initial training, cross training, and expanded training. These courses include Nursing Assistant, Pharmacy Technician Program, Activities Professional, Pharmaceutical Assistant, Polysomnographer Training Program, Medical Insurance Specialist, Intro to Phlebotomy, Medical Terminology and Medical Insurance Billing and Coding.
Approved Continuing Education is required by the state to maintain certification/licensure in various health related fields. The Health Institute offers courses approved by the following professional boards:
The Health Institute works with representatives from DTCC sister campuses to offer collegewide courses such as the CNA Continuing Education series, the Home Healthcare (caregiver) workshop and Gerontology CE series. Prevention/Wellness courses are offered to the lay person a well as the health care professional. Designed to help the individual become a better health care consumer.
