Welcome

The Career Services Center is the point of contact for students and alumni who want to learn about career opportunities. Students can use the transfer information available at the Career Services Center to help them outline their educational path.

Female StudentThe Career Services Center is the central location for reference books, online college catalogs, and résumé critique services. Using the center’s software program, Microsoft Office Suite, students and alumni can prepare résumés and have them reviewed by center staff.

The Owens Campus Career Services Center offers career planning and placement services to assist students in developing, evaluating, initiating and implementing career plans.

Employment Opportunities

  • Delaware Tech maintains a close relationship with business and industry through an advisory committee for each program of study. The Job Placement office is a member of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, several local chamber’s of commerce, and the Delmarva Human Resources Group.

Career Assessment

  • DISCOVER – Internet-based career planning program that assesses interest, abilities, experiences, and values; provides a list of occupations; allows students and alumni to search for colleges by specific criteria. To request service for the DISCOVER website click here.
  • Self-Directed Search – paper and pencil interest inventory that provides a list of occupations

Computer Resources

  • Utilizing Internet access, students and alumni have the opportunity to explore the most up-to-date career placement and employment data provided by the Delaware Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Labor, and commercial firms. Computerized career assessment tools also are available to match interests, abilities, and values that can help users coordinate their educational and career goals.

College Central Network
  • The Career Services Center coordinates the College Central Network, an electronic employment data bank that offers employers, students, and alumni an exclusive opportunity to post jobs and résumés. Students and alumni have access to employment postings. Full-time, part-time, and special internship employment opportunities are available at the click of a button. College Central Network
