Office 2007

Question - Where can I GET one of those Quick Reference Sheets given out at the Office 07 workshops done by the eLeaning staff? Answer - Need help learning the new Office 2007 interface? Check out the guides on Jerry Pearson's "Office 2007 Self-Help" page.

Question - How should I save Office 07 documents for my students, and for use on BlackBoard

Answer - If students will need to manipulate the information in the documents, save them as Office 97 - 2003. To do this click on the Office Button, click Save As and use the drop down at the bottom of the dialog box to click on the appropriate file type. If students do not need to manipulate the information in the document, saving as a .pdf is the best option. This is also the best option for posting documents on BlackBoard. Follow the steps listed above but instead chose the Save As PDF option. If this option is not listed contact the IT department at ext, 4870 to have that plug-in installed.

Question - I don't have Office 07 at home, will the College give me a copy?

Answer - Microsoft Licensing prohibits the College from providing a copy of its software for home use. However, the licensing agreement provides a mechanism for discounted purchase. Follow this link Employee Discounted MS Products and chose "Work at Home" under "For Faculty and Staff." Follow the steps provided by the web site and you will receive your software shortly.
