The graduate of the Electronics program has extensive training in analog and digital electronics with applications emphasis on components and circuit analysis related to microprocessors, controls and communication systems. Career opportunities in manufacturing, quality control, engineering, and field engineering are likely employment areas.
The Electronics/Electrical Engineering Technology: Math/Science Concentration has a core curriculum that emphasizes general engineering fundamentals with intense hands-on laboratory experience focusing on circuit design, applications, and integrated computer systems. The curriculum provides strong mathematics and science preparation needed for upper-division course work. The program is articulated with the University of Delaware’s bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Graduates of the associate degree program are also prepared as entry level electronic technicians.
Analog Electronics Studies for those students who by their current job require a specific focus on linear systems and communications.
Microcomputer Electronic Studies for those students who by their current job require a specific focus on digital electronics and microprocessor-based systems.
Microcomputer Systems Service & Repair Studies for those students who wish to focus on entry level computer repair work with emphasis on the CompTIA A+ certification. The diploma completes the first year of the AAS program.
