MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of The Learning Center on the Owens Campus at Delaware Technical & Community College is to help students become independent, self-confident, and efficient learners. The programs and services of The Learning Center are available to all students of the college to foster success and retention through mastery of course content and skills. As a partner with students, faculty, staff, and administrators, The Learning Center strives to uphold the mission, standards, and requirements of Delaware Technical & Community College.

GOALS

• Assist students to achieve their potential for learning.
• Introduce students to the learning expectations of the faculty and the environment of higher education.
• Help students develop a positive attitude toward learning and confidence in their ability to learn.
• Help students to apply skills and strategies they have learned to academic work.
• Support the academic standards and requirements of the institution.
• Recruit and train personnel for the services provided by the center
  

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

To provide an optimal learning environment, we ask that students please remember the following when using The Learning Center:

• Present your Delaware Tech or University of Delaware student ID.
• Turn off cell phones and other electronic devices.
• Leave food and drink outside.
• Use a quiet voice at all times.

HOURS (FALL, SPRING, AND SUMMER)

The Learning Center is open...

• Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m.
• Friday 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. (fall & spring)
• Friday 8:30 a.m. until noon. (summer)

(During the summer session, the Center is open on Friday until 12 noon.)
