The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program is designed to prepare students for employment in medical, clinical, research, and public health laboratories. A Medical Laboratory Technician collects or receives patient specimens, performs many general laboratory tests, and records and reports results which aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. This program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) 8410 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 670, Chicago, IL 60631 (733-714-8880).
At Delaware Tech, the program includes both theory and practical experiences. The program is a comprehensive educational experience with training and education in all phases of laboratory medicine, including Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, and Clinical Chemistry.
After graduation, you are prepared to enter an exciting career in medical technology. You are also eligible for national board examination such as the American Society of Clinical Pathologists Board of Registry. Those graduates who wish to pursue their bachelor's degrees in Medical Technology can transfer to Salisbury University and University of Delaware. View University of Delaware Connected Degree.
