Community Involvement

Delaware Tech and Delaware Mentoring Council want to encourage our brightest and most energetic students to use their talents to impove the lives of those around them.

Delaware Mentoring Council is a coalition of mentor programs, local corporations and businesses, government agencies and organizations committed to providing mentors to youth in need throughout the state. The Council was established by executive order of the Governor and is housed within the College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy at the University of Delaware.

Who is a Mentor?
A mentor is someone who provides another person with support, counsel, friendship and reinforcement. A mentor is a good listener, a person who cares and who wants to help bring out strengths in others. As a mentor your time and life experiences are valuable assets. You need no particular expertise.
