 Celebration of Women as of 3/31/08
The Women's Center hosted its annual Celebration of Women on March 17, 2008. The Celebration of Women recognizes and honors all women during the month of March - which is Women's History Month. This year we had wonderful motivational speakers, Marni Williams, Esquire and Dr. David Rudder. In addition to the program which honors women, we honored our first time ever, Empowering Women Award recipient. That recipient was Dr. Harriet Brown, former Dean of Student Services at the Stanton Campus. The Tree of Honor Roll Call closed the evening's program. The Tree of Honor displays all the women who have impacted our lives and made a difference in the lives of others. Each name or leaf, was read that night and each woman was recognized and honored. Another special part of the evening included several vendors who displayed their products and sold them. Vendors displayed items such as jewelry, candles, handbags, ladies fashions and more! A wonderful food buffet was also served.
