Delaware Tech Student Teams Wins 1st Place as of 4/23/08
A student team from Delaware Technical & Community College won 1st place in the Structures category for the Barkitecture 2008 design competition Saturday at the Greenville Country Club. The student team are 2nd year students in the AET 270 Architectural Design Studio class.
The entry title this year was 4th Bark Battalion and was an outside doghouse shaped like a tank. One student group designed and built the compressed air cannon to shoot tennis balls, which actually works!!! The entry was dedicated to all of the Delaware servicemen and servicewomen on active duty in the military.
A current Delaware Tech evening student, Steve Browning, was one of our sponsors who dedicated the resources of his cabinet making factory, The Closet Organizer, to assist in constructing the project. Steve was not part of this class section. He had already finished this course and volunteered his services for the next group of students.
