William Penn Admission Outreach a Success as of 4/9/08

The William Penn Admission Outreach Program celebrated a successful two day event back in March.  This year saw a 50% increase of student participation in the program, with 50 of the 94 attendees applying for a SEED Scholarship.  The program, in its second year, was started to reach out to seniors at William Penn High School and works to assure students are aware of the opportunities available at Delaware Tech.

One initiative introduced at this year’s program was to invite an outreach participant from last year to be a guest speaker.  Andrew Fleming, William Penn Class of ’07 and a current Delaware Tech student, addressed the group.  As a SEED Scholarship recipient, Andrew explained the advantages of a Delaware Tech education and the excellent opportunities available through SEED, as Andrew plans to transfer to the University of Delaware through one of our 66 Connected Degree Programs.
