Mentoring Program
Become A Mentor
We are looking for a few good people...

Do you remember what it was like the first day on the job here at Delaware Tech? For even the most outgoing people that first day, week, or even month can be a little scary. The Stanton/Wilmington Staff Senate in conjunction with Human Resources is going to make the process of being a new hire a little easier with the implementation of our new Mentoring Program.

What does a Mentor do?

A mentor is really just a buddy, someone a new hire can turn to with questions that don't fall into the category of HR or might be embarrassing for them to ask their new boss. We have a short checklist of ideas that you can tailor to your and your mentee's interests and needs. These include simple, but important, activities like taking your mentee for a tour of the campus and introducing them to some of the people in different departments.

To become a mentor you must be a regular full-time or regular part-time Plan B/C employee working at the Stanton/Wilmington Campus.

Remember what it was like that first day?

Then become a Mentor by filling out our application and contacting Courtney Hutt in Wilmington or Lynne Boyd Smith in Stanton.

The Staff Senate is pleased to announce that
their "Family Bee" cookbook is still on sale!

All the recipes from the cookbook were submitted by Delaware Tech staff members, and in order to make the cookbook extra special, staff was asked to supply a special memory about the recipe they were submitting. This request generated not only great recipes but some wonderful stories. This is the only Cookbook on earth where you can read the story of the family that loved vanilla pudding too much, learn about Peggy Hirsh's introduction to Salmon Gefilte Fish, and learn to make Ben Pearce's very special salted cod fish breakfast in his unique Caribbean style.

The Family Bee Cookbook is 123 pages of favorite recipes and sells for only $7.99 each or 2 for $15.

Cookbooks are available for sale to the public at both the Stanton and Wilmington Campus Bookstores. Or by contacting a Staff Senator.
