The Chemical Process Operator Technology curriculum prepares students for employment in industrial plants in the chemical, petroleum, polymer and pharmaceutical industry. The chemical industry throughout the state has a great need for trained chemical operators to adjust and optimize conditions for the production of large quantities of products in local chemical plants and pilot plants. Graduates are readily employed by these local plants at competitive salaries. The program provides a practical education in the various aspects of plant operations such as hands-on training in process operations and control, regulatory compliance, and preventive maintenance skills. Laboratory facilities include not only standard lab equipment, but also modern instrumentation in pilot plant technology and computer simulations.

Science and Technology Preview Camp at
Delaware
Tech
Delaware Tech will host a summer camp for girls entering grades 10, 11 and 12 to introduce them to career opportunities in the chemical process industry. This camp will be held during the week of June 16 from 9:00 a.m. to
3:30 p.m.
at the Stanton Campus. There is no charge for the camp and lunch will be provided.
The camp will provide participants with exciting and interactive activities to learn about the processes involved in manufacturing products that affect their everyday lives. Guest speakers and trips to area companies will give participants a clear picture of what it’s like to be a chemical process operator. Hands-on activities will enable participants to develop problem-solving and teamwork skills while they complete chemistry experiments, operate equipment in our new high-tech unit operations laboratory, and perform process simulations in our new computer simulation laboratory.
Enrollment is limited, but seats are still available.
To register call 453-3041.
This program is partially funded by the National Science Foundation.
