During the summer of 2006, five outstanding biotechnology students from DTCC were awarded internships in labs at Delaware Biotechnology Institute and the University of Delaware. They spent the summer gaining invaluable research experience and got paid while doing it! Sometimes the research leads to fun times outside of the laboratory. For example, Timothy Mills was able to spend two weeks on research vessels collecting bacterial samples in the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays.
The research experience culminated in an undergraduate research symposium held at the University of Delaware where each student presented a poster on his or her research. For abstracts on the students’ research as well as photographs of the students with their posters, use the following links.
