The Environmental Technology, Associates of Applied Science degree program is designed to prepare individuals for employment in a wide variety of environmental testing/consulting and related industries. Graduates of this program utilize the principles of science, technology, communication, and economics to protect and enhance safety, health, and natural resources.  Major emphasis is placed on biological and chemical evaluation of man’s impact on the environment.

Course work for this degree includes: mathematics, biology, chemistry, industrial safety, and an extensive array of detailed environmentally specific classes.  HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) 40 hour OSHA training is included in the program. Environmental Technology Program Educational Objectives

The graduate will:

  • Have the necessary qualifications for employment as an environmental technician or similar job title; assuming technical roles in monitoring, sampling, field work, remediation, testing and laboratory settings.

  • Be prepared with a solid foundation in mathematics, sciences and technical skills needed to continue their professional advancement through life-long learning opportunities, in-service training, and pursuit of advanced degrees.

  • Practice effective written and oral communications skills.

  • Work effectively on teams using their ability to solve problems related to the workplace through their application of technical capabilities in environmental technology and related fields.
