The Delaware Community Foundation is a clearinghouse for scholarships for benefactors who live in Delaware.

Helen L. & Douglas C. Eliason Scholarship:

Deadline: November 1 for Spring semester; January 1 for Summer semester; May 1 for Fall semester

Eligibility: Scholarships are awarded to help deserving students lead productive lives and return something to their community. Priority is given to working adults who want to improve their employment potential through continuing education. Low- and moderate-income high school students will also be considered (call in Spring for application for the Fall semester). Scholarships may be used at Delaware-based programs. Aid is available for credit, or non-credit courses in special circumstances.

Fresh Start Scholarship

Eligibility: Women who are returning to school after a hiatus. Candidates must be recommended by a social service agency or guidance counselor, have financial need, and must have been admitted to an accredited Delaware college in a two or four year degree program at the undergraduate level.

Margaret A. Stafford Nursing Scholarship Fund

Deadline: March 31

Eligibility: Delaware resident who has been accepted into an accredited college or university's nursing program within or outside Delaware, with the intention of pursuing a career in nursing and ensuring that patients? needs are a priority. A preference will be given to those students most in need of financial support.

Award amount: This is a one-time scholarship of $1,000 . The amount is subject to change in future years.
