Dr. Fahy
will compare the 1993 World Trade Center evacuation with first-person accounts
of the September 11 evacuation as reported in the media. After the World Trade Center in New York City
was bombed in 1993, NFPA and the
National Research Council of Canada(NRCC) undertook a study of the towers,
including particularly the floor fire wardens.

Center—Presenter: Lt. Fred Endrikat of
Phila. Rescue 1
Lt. Endrikat will give a
report from the World Trade Center on the rescue operations that ensued after
the tragic incident of September 11, 2001.
The primary mission of FEMA is the coordination, development, and
maintenance of the Federal effort with resources to locate, extricate, provide
immediate medical treatment to victims trapped in collapsed structures, and to
conduct other life saving operations.
