Ron Burgess
Athletic Director
Ron Burgess has been Delaware Tech-Stanton’s Athletic Director for seven years. Prior to being A.D, Ron served as Assistant Athletic Director for 15 years. Ron’s experience in athletics goes beyond his extensive athletic administration knowledge. Additionally, he has served as our Head Men’s Basketball Coach for 31 seasons, heads our Inter-mural athletic program and has been our Student Activities Coordinator for the past ten years. Some of Ron’s duties as Athletic Director include: administration and management of the Athletic Program including game scheduling and athletic compliance in accordance to NJCAA regulations. With a firm belief in the benefits of community college athletics, Ron’s main goal is to assist student athletes to obtain success both on the court/field and in the classroom. Because of this dedication, several of Ron’s basketball players have moved on to four year universities.
Prior to his career at Delaware Tech, Ron was Brandywine College’s Head Men’s Basketball Coach for five years and prior to obtaining that position, served as Assistant Basketball Coach at Brandywine for four years.
In addition to working with student athletes, Ron also works as Criminal Justice Counselor for Delaware Tech.

David Rudder
Assistant Athletic Director
David Rudder, Ph.D. is the Assistant Athletic Director and Academic Advisor for student athletes at Delaware Tech’s Stanton/ Wilmington Campus. He brings a breadth and depth of experience in athletics and higher education to the Athletic Department. His responsibilities include: general academic counseling, personal counseling, eligibility monitoring, assistance in maintaining satisfactory progress toward degrees completion, and course scheduling. Dr. Rudder is also responsible for handling any disciplinary matters that occur with student athletes.
Dr. Rudder, along with the academic support team, focus on providing an environment that facilitates the academic success of each student athlete. Student success is encouraged through competent academic counseling, study skills development, individualized assessment and support, and a wide array of tutorial services. Dr. Rudder monitors student-athlete classroom progress through providing progress reports to individual faculty members three times a semester. Our Athletic Department is committed to assisting student athletes in accomplishing their educational, career, and life objectives.
