Bridges to the Baccalaureate is a joint program between Delaware Technical & Community College and the University of Delaware. It is funded by a National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant as part of an endeavor to increase the number of scientists from underrepresented minority groups.

- To create an environment conducive to student success
- To foster diversity in the sciences by encouraging underrepresented minority students to successfully complete the associate’s degree, earn a baccalaureate degree and advanced degrees, and pursue research careers in the sciences
- To ensure that highly trained scientists will be available in appropriate scientific areas to address the Nation’s biomedical and behavioral research needs
