Delaware Technical & Community College, Wilmington Campus, offers a two year, assciates degree program in Dental Hygiene. An extension of the Wilmington Campus program is offered here at the Terry Campus for residents of Kent and Sussex counties.
Dental hygienists are licensed health care professionals who provide direct patient care and education to improve the oral health of individuals and groups. Graduates are eligible to take the Dental Hygiene National Board Examination and the various state and/or regional board examinations. The dental hygiene profession offers a variety of avenues for employment and educational advancement, as well as being an integral member of the dental health team. After graduation the dental hygienist may decide to specialize in areas such as education, research, administration, sales or public health. |

Delaware Technical & Community College operates on a semester system with new terms beginning in late August and mid-January, plus summer terms beginning at the end of May and in mid-June. Non-Technology courses may be taken on a part-time or full-time basis during any semester or the summer term. Some students may need refresher courses at the basic or pre-tech level; others may receive transfer credit for prior educational experiences or credit through a competitive selection process. Technology courses are open to only those students who have been selected to enter the technology. These courses are sequential and offered only one time per year. |
