1. What is Allied Health?  
Up Allied Health programs include a wide array of career options.  We often say that Allied Health includes most health careers except nursing and physician! Our Allied Health Programs page has listing of our degree and certificate options. Browse our Programs Overviews to find out about the programs offered at the Terry Campus in Kent County. The Admissions Department at each Delaware Tech campus can also provide you with information about each program. Admissions can also refer you to a resource person who can answer specific questions
 
2. How can I get started in one of these programs?  
Up The first step in getting started is to apply for admission to the college. The Admissions Department can supply you with an admissions application ($10.00 application fee), and then the Admissions counselors will guide you through the admissions process. The next steps in the process include a placement assessment, followed by an appointment with an academic advisor to plan your coursework.
 
3. Are the Allied Health programs offered on all the Delaware Tech campuses?  
Up Some programs are offered on only selected campus sites. Our Allied Health Programs Page lists the currently available programs for the Terry Campus in Kent County. Please refer to the College Catalog or Admissions Department of the campus you prefer. It is often possible to enroll in the initial program coursework on ANY Delaware Tech campus, and then complete the program on the "home" campus for that program.
 
4. How do I know which classes to take?  
Up Each program has a "sequence sheet" that designates the courses required to complete the program. View our on-line Program Sequence Sheet pages to see what classes are required for each program at Terry Campus. (Note: The on-line curriculum sheets may have been revised since this web edition.) During the admissions process, you will be assigned to an academic advisor who can assist you in selecting courses. (Note: There are some courses that have "pre-requisite" coursework requirements that must be completed prior to registering for that course.) Your advisor can help you with questions you have concerning registering for classes.
 
5. How much does it cost to take a class?  
Up Course fees are determined by the number of credits and the number of lab hours. The Business Office can provide information concerning course costs and other student fees.  
6. How do I get books for a class?  
Up When you register, you will be given a class schedule. You may present this schedule to the campus bookstore, and the staff will tell you which books you need.  
7. How can I pay for all of this?  
Up Students who need financial assistance are strongly encouraged to contact the Financial Aid Office on their home campus. There are government grants, scholarships, and other types of assistance available. If there is an emergency situation, students should contact student support services  
8. What if I am doing poorly in a class?  
Up Each campus has a tutoring service to assist students in coursework. Your instructor may provide assistance or refer you to other resources. Resources may include open lab time (Math, English, or Reading). . If you feel you will not be able to complete the class, see the next question/answer.  
9. What if I can't complete a class?  
Up Students may withdraw from a class prior to a specific date each semester, with no effect on their grade point average. (There may be an effect on financial aid, however!) See Academic Policies & Proceedures for details of dropping a class. If you wish to withdraw from a class, see your academic advisor.  
10. How do I sign up for classes the NEXT semester?  
Up About midway through the semester, the college begins registration for the NEXT semester. Your academic advisor can help you sign up for the next semester of coursework. On-line registration is also available.
