What is Employment Connections? |

|
Employment Connections is a program designed to help welfare recipients meet their goal of economic independence by assisting them to obtain and retain employment. Program participants are referred by the Division of Social Services.
Employment Specialists provide group instruction in job search and retention strategies and work with individuals to assess their skills, talents, barriers and needs to develop an employability plan that works just for them. Each participant is regarded as a unique person with unique goals and needs. Problem solving is part of the plan! Education and training are options for some.
The program also works with employers, assisting them to fill positions within their companies, discussing employer and workplace expectations, and coaching program participants whom they have hired. |
