Delaware Tech is currently accepting applications for the 5 week, 33 hour Entrepreneurship Certificate Program. This program is recommended for those who are in the process of starting a business and is offering two evenings a week over the course of a five week period. This means you can start your business and take classes at the same time.
Each module of the 5-week program is delivered by business professionals who has vast experience in the subject matter being presented. For example, an attorney
will teach the class on business law and a certified public accountant will teach the class related to finances. You will have a program advisor to consult for the duration of the
program, as well as access to Delaware Tech’s library and a wide array of on-line business resources. Once you complete your certificate, your relationship with Delaware Tech is
far from over. You will be invited back on a regular basis to participate in a variety of relevant programs and classes including the Kent County Economic Summit and the Annual
Entrepreneur Conference.
The Chabbott Center is also home to the Central Delaware Business and Entrepreneurship Consortium, a cutting-edge organization made up of all the leading economic
development and business assistance organizations in Central Delaware. The Consortium meets on a regular basis to share information and to plan and produce programs that
help to boost the economic growth of the county. Consortium members possess a vast network of contacts that can help you build your own network of support services and
customer base.
You will also have access to a SCORE counselor who will advise and refer you to the proper licensing and small business assistance programs that will best fit your industry specific
needs. As your business grows, you and your employees will have the opportunity to come back to Delaware Tech and participate in both continuing education and customized
training programs of your choice. Your assigned SCORE counselor will provide ongoing business mentoring assistance for an extended period of time. |
