A career as a Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) can lead to many opportunities within the healthcare profession. In the CMAA program, students will learn how the front end of medical practice operates. This program covers all aspects of processing a patient from sign-in to sign-out along with follow-up appointments. The program also introduces the students to Medical Terminology and Anatomy & Physiology. Students will be proficient in excellent customer service, basic computer skills, insurance verification/authorizations, and referrals associated with quality patient care. Students will attend a clinical rotation in a medical practice to gain hands-on experience that can not be obtained in the classroom. Graduates from the CMAA program will sit for a national certification exam from National Healthcare Association (NHA).
250 hour program to include a 90 hour cliniclal rotation
Sessions:
September 13 to December 9, 2010
Classes will be held Monday - Thursday, 5 pm to 10 pm
Note: Clinical experience days begin earlier than instructional days.

This training is free to State of Delaware residents if they meet the Department of Labor eligibility requirements. As a condition of acceptance, applicants agree to seek and obtain full-time, training-related employment. Job placement assistance is provided.
Recent graduates earned starting salaries ranging from $9.00 to $14.00 an hour depending on employer, economic climate, and skills.
