A career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a great way to enter into the healthcare field. In the program the students will learn universal precautions, taking and recording vital signs, range of motion exercises, and how to assist patients in the activities of daily living. Students will understand and apply rights of patients and concepts of death and dying and proper use of assistant devises to assist disabled patients. In the CNA program a wide variety of topics are covered to insure each student is prepared to pass the written and manual skills tests required by federal law for CNA certification. Each student will be certified as a BLS-Healthcare provider before entering into the clinical phase of the program. Students will attend a clinical rotation in long-term care and acute care settings to enhance the skills learned in the classroom setting.
234 hour program to include a 90 hour clinical rotation
Sessions:
January 11 - March 19, 2010
Classes will be held Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Note: Clinical experience days begin earlier than instructional days.

This training is free to State of Delaware residents if they meet the Department of Labor eligibility requirements. As a condition of acceptance, applicants agree to seek and obtain full-time, training-related employment. Job placement assistance is provided.
Recent graduates earned starting salaries ranging from $9.00 to $14.00 an hour depending on employer, economic climate, and skills.
