Corporate and Community Programs: Life Keys

LIFE KEYS is a year round program providing eligible youth with effective and coprehensive activities geared towards improving educational competencies and effective connections to employment. The program consists of academic year components, both in-school and after-school, and summer educational and employment exeriences.

LIFE KEYS staff work with students in their schools and on campus to develop the academic, career, and life skills necessary to lead a successful and independent adulthood.

Transportation is provided from each school to the Terry Campus and to the student's home.

Eligibility Criteria


	Students who are entering or enrolled in 8th or 9th grade
	Attend targeted public schools within Kent County
	Tested at a Level 1 or 2 on the Delaware State Testing Program (DSTP)
	Are committed to their success throughout high school
	Are motivated to become student leaders

Program activities include:

	Work readiness	Reading, writing, and math skills tutoring
	Career exploration	Assistance with homework and projects
	Learning study skills	Focus on skills needed in the workplace
	Leadership development skills	Certificates for reaching individual goals
	Rewards for skill improvement	Use of a state-of-the-art computer lab
	Computer based instruction	Individual counseling and advisement
	Summer employment	Incentives for attendance and programs
	Cultural and social field trips
