  About the Yellow Room

The Yellow Room is set up to provide the most effective learning environment for toddlers. This environment is fashioned in order to give toddlers an opportunity to learn through play. All toys and materials used in the classroom are selected with certain criteria in mind. Is the item age appropriate? Will the item allow the toddler freedom to express their creativity and imagination? Will the item promote the emerging developmental skills of a toddler? Will the item interest the curiosity of spontaneity of the toddler? Activities for the classroom are planned carefully with the toddler's developmental needs in mind. Some activities introduce social skills, such as taking turns, using early sign language, using manners, and expressing feelings. Pre-math skills and pre-reading skills are introduced as well; for example, identifying shapes and numbers, and being read to. Learning through play can help toddlers build independence and provide them with a positive learning experience. The Yellow Room is a safe and rich learning environment that provides materials which enables toddlers to acquire necessary skills for their development.
