The Culinary Arts Kitchen is located in the Educational Technology Building. Classes fill quickly and have limited seating.

Just Salads

In the past, salads were pretty ho-hum, but things have changed. This evening’s “Hands-on” workshop in the culinary kitchen will feature “Just Salads” as the main course. An all American taco salad, minty Lebanese Tabbouleh, spicy Indonesian Gado-Gado with Tofu, flavorful Thai Chicken Salad and wonderful Mediterranean Salad Niçoise with Tuna. Now you will be able to tempt even the most reluctant salad eater. Cost: $49

Summer Grilling

Love to grill, but want to become better? Improve your grilling skills here. We will give you all the tricks of the trade to make you the sought after grill cook this barbeque season. We’ll be grilling chicken, steak, and fresh vegetables. To top it off, you’ll also learn about marinates, dry rubs, and composed summer salads. Sampling is required! Cost: $49

Party Planning and Hors d’Oeuvres

The summer season is just around the corner. Want to throw a great party or picnic? We’ll show you how! You will learn tips and tricks for throwing a superb party. You will learn organizational skills, party planning skills, and creating delicious hors d’oeuvres and appetizers which will help your summer party become a huge success. Sampling is required! Cost: $49

Professional Bartending

Bartending is the perfect fun, flexible part-time, full-time or transition job! This course will teach you basic mixology (classic favorites and current popular drinks), liquor types, history and uses, personal presentation and etiquette, health and safety practices as well as provide students with the highly regarded National Restaurant Association ServSafe® Alcohol Certification. Whether you want to earn some extra cash or are seeking a full-time job, get started this spring at Delaware Tech! This is a “hands-on” course with limited seating (20 hours) Cost: $229 (includes textbook)

ServSafe® Alcohol Certification

The ServSafe® Alcohol Program, created by the National Restaurant Association, outlines effective responsible alcohol service practices for all front-of-the-house staff, business owners, customers and the community. This course will provide successful students with the nationally recognized ServSafe® Alcohol Certification.
(6 hours) Cost: $95 (includes textbook)

ServSafe® Food Safety Certification

The ServSafe® Food Safety Program was created by the National Restaurant Association to provide the highest standard of food safety training and certification. ServSafe® has evolved to meet the most urgent challenges in the food safety training industry and is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-Conference for Food Protection (CFP). With so much on the line, the right preparation means everything!
(8 hours) Cost: $145 (includes textbook)
