Terry Campus Distinguished Alumni Recognition

Purpose:

To recognize the outstanding achievements of graduates from Delaware Technical & Community College, Charles L. Terry Campus.

Eligibility:

Nominees must be graduates of Delaware Tech’s associate or diploma programs at the Terry Campus. Eligibility for nomination begins fifteen (15) years after graduation. Nominees must have a completed nomination form (or have been nominated by a second party) before the deadline. The Selection Committee will recommend candidate(s) to the Vice President/Campus Director for approval.

Criteria:

Nominees will be judged on the criteria listed here. Successful candidates will have: supplied the Selection Committee with a résumé and other supporting information as requested by that committee. maintained a relationship with the Terry Campus and its students, faculty, and staff and/or the Alumni Association. achieved success in his/her professional career by building upon the education received at the Terry Campus of Delaware Tech to realize these achievements and accomplishments. contributed a significant amount of time and/or talents to his/her community. inspired students to achieve their own best potential by his/her life and work.

Rules:

Ceremonies are held every other (odd) year.· Up to three (3) nominees can be inducted into the Distinguished Alumni Gallery for a given year. All nominations not selected for recognition will be held in the pool until the next distinguished alumni ceremony. They may be updated prior to the nomination deadline.

Final Award Recipients:

Recipients will be notified in March of their selection as distinguished alumni. Photos will be taken at the expense of the Campus and will hang, along with a bio, in the Distinguished Alumni Gallery, located in the lobby of the Terry Building. Recipient’s name and graduation date will be engraved on a permanent monument in the courtyard of the Campus Recipients will be permitted to invite up to ten guests to the recognition ceremony. An award and pin will be presented to the recipient at a ceremony, followed by a reception. Event coverage will be sent to newspapers, included in Campus newsletters, and posted on the alumni website.
