According to the Delaware Department of Labor, the legal assistant field is predicted to be one of the fastest growing occupations in the 21st century.
To prepare graduates to meet the increasing need, this program offers a combination of specialized legal courses and general eductaion with an emphasis on the development of highly marketable skills.
This fall, the Terry Campus introduces two law courses. Both courses are part of the Delaware Tech Legal Assistant (Paralegal) degree program, and credits earned will apply toward completion of an associate degree.
Introduction to the Legal System
Mondays and Wednesdays

A general perspective of the legal system and a specific knowledge of the present and potential role of the legal assistant (paralegal) within the legal system.
Family Law
Tuesdays and Thursdays
1:00 p.m. - 2:20 p.m.
CRN 14368 OAT 160-601 (3 credits)
A study of the basic legal principles of marriage, divorce, support, adoption, juvenile law, and parent/child relationships, with an emphasis on drafting legal documents in each of these areas.
