Description

  • Available to full or part-time students

Amount

  • Up to full-time tuition for one year, fees, books, transportation and/or childcare
  • Criteria

    • Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0 for returning students;
    • completed 6 or more credits;
    • must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 to receive second semester award

Bayhealth/ Terry Campus Healthcare Scholarship

Description

  • To support one of ten students in a two-year healthcare career program

Amount

  • $3000 ($1500 per semester) for tuition, fees, books, and uniforms
  • Criteria

    • Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 each semester;
    • will be required to work for Bayhealth Medical Center-- one year full-time employment for each year of full-time scholarship provided in your designated healthcare career field.

    • completed scholarship application;
    • two letters of recommendation from a teacher, employer, or community leader;
    • essay explaining why healthcare is your career choice;
    • copy of your college letter of acceptance

The Marilyn and George H. Chabbott Scholarship

Description

  • Available to full or part-time Kent County adult student between the ages of 21 and 30 enrolled in the Business Administration Technology program

Amount

  • $1000 ($500 per semester) for tuition, fees, books, or child care
  • Criteria

    • Minimum cumulative GPA 2.5;
    • must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 to receive second semester award;
    • have financial need

Delaware Hotel and Lodging Association

Description

  • Available to students who will be or are currently enrolled in the Culinary Arts program

Amount

  • $1,500 ($750 per semester) for tuition, fees, and books

Roy Klein Scholarship

Description

  • Available to full or part-time students in the Entrepreneurship Degree program

Amount

  • Maximum $1250 ($625 per semester) for tuition, fees, books, and/or childcare

Criteria

  • Must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to receive second semester award;
  • must be enrolled in the Entrepreneurship program

  • Completed scholarship application and a letter from student indicating need and career goals

Ruth Ann Minner Endowment Scholarship

Description

  • Diploma from James Groves High School or GED from a Delaware service provider;
  • single parent (18 or older);
  • first-time student (enrolled in 6 or more credits) at any DTCC campus

Amount

  • Up to full-time tuition, fees, and books; renewable

Criteria

  • Minimum high school GPA 2.5 to qualify;
  • must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 to receive second semester award

Dr. Harold Roberts Scholarship

Description

  • Available to full or part-time Education Degree Program students at Terry Campus;
  • must have an interest in pursuing a career education in Kent County, Delaware

Amount

  • Up to $2500 ($1250 max per semester) for tuition, fees, books, supplies, transportation, and/or childcare

Criteria

  • Applying or accepted into an Education Degree Program at Terry Campus;
  • preference will be given to graduates of Caesar Rodney High School;
  • should have the intent of returning to the Caesar Rodney School District in the educational profession; and
  • must maintain cumulative GPA of 2.5 to receive second semester award

  • Official high school and/or college transcript;
  • completed scholarship application;
  • typed letter that describes their career goals, why they want to be considered for the Dr. Harold Roberts Scholarship, and how the scholarship will help them achieve their career goals

The Starkey Scholarship

Description

  • Available to help support a single parent

Amount

  • Tuition, fees, books, childcare, and expenses such as transportation, room and board, instructional supplies, etc.

Criteria

  • Graduate of any Delaware high school or have obtained GED;
  • single parent;
  • must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 to reapply;
  • full- or part-time student with financial need

Application Process

  • Official high school, GED or college transcript;
  • completed scholarship application;
  • typed letter from student indicating why the student would like to be considered and how the scholarship will offset financial burden and enhance academic success

Michael K. Sykes Scholarship

Description

  • Available to full or part-time Delaware residents between 21 and 30 enrolled in the Business Administration or Accounting degree program

Amount

  • $1000 ($500 per semester) for tuition, fees, and other unmet need

Criteria

  • Minimum cumulative high school or college GPA of 3.0;
  • must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 to receive second semester award

Application Process

  • Official high school or college transcript;
  • completed scholarship application;
  • two scholarship reference forms from a teacher, employer, or community leader;
  • 100 word essay describing career goals

Terry Campus Bookstore Scholarship

Description

  • Available to all degree students enrolled in 9 or more credits;
  • to be used for books only

Amount

  • Two scholarships; $400 each ($200 per semester

Criteria

  • Minimum cumulative GPA 2.5 for returning students;
  • must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 to receive second semester award

Terry Campus Childcare Scholarship

Description

  • To provide funding to help offset the cost of childcare in the Terry Campus Child Development Center for students accepted and enrolled in a diploma or degree program at Terry Campus

Amount

  • To be applied toward the cost of child care at the Terry Campus Child Development Center

Criteria

  • Selection will be based on need;
  • must reapply each semester;
  • amount will be determined by the committee and available funds

Application Process

  • Completed Terry Campus Child Care scholarship application;
  • apply for financial aid;
  • register with the Terry Campus Child Development Center;
  • attach copy of Child Development Center Child Care Schedule Request for the semester

Description

  • Available to full or part-time students;
  • one time award for students demonstrating financial need or documented hardship as determined by the Financial Aid Office

  • To be applied toward cost of tuition

  • Meet technical Federal definition of financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office

  • Must be a Smyrna High School graduate and/or resident from the Smyrna-Clayton area;
  • given to students in Business or Agricultural related fields
