Welcome!
The mission of the Early Childhood Education program is to provide students with an associate-level college education which will prepare them for successful employment within the field of Early Childhood, and/or to continue their education at a baccalaureate level upon graduation. The required curriculum consists of a balance between a theoretical and practical on-site application which is needed for continuation of their education and for enhancing professional development required by licensing and accreditation.

Students of Delaware Tech's Early Childhood Education program would develop the following:
  • A broad foundation of knowledge in the disciplines of
    Early Childhood Education

  • The knowledge, skills, and dispositions to serve as effective
    professionals in the field of Early Childhood Education

  • A commitment and sensitivity to children

  • A commitment to a continuous process of educating themselves
    and sharing that love of learning with children

  • An understanding of the need and importance of advocacy
