Barbara has been actively involved in the field of early childhood education for more than 30 years. With a B.A. in Early Childhood from the University of Delaware, she also has an M.S. from Nova University in Child Care Administration. 

Barbara has been with DTCC for over 20 years first as an adjunct, than as full-time faculty, and now as Department Chair. She serves on the College’s Planning Counsel, Diversity Committee, Paraeducator Advisory Committee, and Grievance Review Committee. Barbara is an active member of Wilmington Early Care and Education Counsel,  Delaware First Advisory Board and Hodgson Vo-Tech High School Advisory Committee. She was appointed by Governor Minner to the Delaware Early Care and Education Council.

Phillip has been an instructor and advisor in the ECE Department for ten years. Prior to DTCC, Phillip was the Director of a child care center in Bear, Delaware and,  as  an educator in New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia,  he has worked with elementary, middle school, and special education children.

Phillip has a B.S.Ed. in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Delaware and an M.S.Ed. in Early Childhood Education and Parent Education from James Madison University. He is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and until recently served on the board of the state chapter (DAEYC).

He is most proud of his accomplishments as Emily’s father which he states is the “toughest and most rewarding “job” I have ever had”.

Patricia Williams

Patricia has been an instructor and advisor in the ECE Department for two years after having developed and directed the Campus’ Child Development Center for three years. During her tenure there, the Center received national (NAEYC) accreditation. Prior to that, Patricia  worked at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center where she directed the Child Development Center and served as adjunct faculty in the Department of Pediatrics. She had also worked as adjunct faculty and parent co-op teacher with North Seattle Community College.

In Del, she serves on the Committee for Community Colleges and has worked on the Organizing Committee for United Way.  In the community, she serves on the Advisory Board for Parent and Educational Programs at Winterthur Museum and New Castle Head Start. She is an active member in the NAEYC, helping to found a Chapter in Massachusetts, as well as in the National Association for Campus Child Care.

Patricia has a B.A. from the University of Washington with a major in Art and a minor in Elementary Education. She holds an M.S. from Wheelock College in Early Childhood Leadership.
