ECE 111 Childhood Nutrition and Safety
This course is a study of nutrition, health, and safety needs for normal growth and development during early childhood. 

ECE 120 Contemporary Issues in Early Childhood
A study of various models, theories, and issues in early childhood education programs .The theory, goals, and methods used in the programs will be examined and analyzed, as well as their differences in their impact on the child's development.

ECE 121 Infant & Toddler Methods & Lab
An introduction to a program designed for infants and toddlers.  Emphasis is on child/caregiver interaction, developmentally appropriate practice for infants and toddlers, and on managing programs in centers and in family day care homes.  Emphasis is also provided on developmentally appropriate activities for infants and toddlers.  Activity areas include social/emotional development, cognitive and language development, and sensory motor development.
ECE 123 Early Childhood Methods I and Lab
This course is an introduction to the language arts, science, social studies, and math programs suitable for use with children.  The course is designed to help the student understand the importance of these various curriculum areas in the child’s overall development and the materials/activities included in the curriculum.  It also includes applied practice as students will have “hands-on” experience and will develop and evaluate plans for implementing programs.
ECE 125 Early Childhood Methods II and Lab
This course is an introduction to art, computers, cooking, creative dramatics, dramatic-play, large motor and music activities.  Instruction and coursework is designed to help the student understand the importance of these various curriculum areas in the child’s overall development and the materials/activities included in the curriculum.  It also includes applied practice as students will have “hands-on” experience and will develop and evaluate plans for implementing programs.
ECE 127 Childhood Classroom Management
This course focuses on structuring the early childhood classroom and school day. Students will explore the various approaches to classroom management. Topics such as goal setting, establishing objectives, record keeping and appropriate guidance techniques will also be covered.
ECE 211 Parent, Teacher & Community Interaction
This course stresses the importance of the parent-teacher relationship and explores techniques of increasing parental involvement in the school program.  Students will participate in arranging a parent education program and prepare, as well as participate in, a parent-teacher conference.
ECE 226 Assessment of Young Child
Introduction to formal, informal, formative and terminal child assessment techniques with an examination of screening and assessment instruments and methods.
ECE 233 Exceptional Child
A study of the psychological, medical, and sociological aspects of exceptionality with major emphasis on appropriate methods and practices in Early Childhood programs. Students will learn to develop materials and to work in partnership with parents and families of children with exceptionality.
ECE 244 Fieldwork: Teaching Practicum
Under the supervision of a professional teacher, the student will participate on a daily basis in a school classroom. The student will gradually take on more responsibility with the children, will plan and carry out daily activities, and will be responsible for classroom management.
