Associate Degree
As a human services worker, you will have the responsibility and the privilege of helping people who are experiencing one or more social disadvantage or personal problem. You will play a vital role in linking these people with such needed services as education or training, financial assistance, child care, shelter, addictions treatment, mental health services and senior services among others. You will use interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, empathy and knowledge of important theories in counseling psychology and human development to help people overcome obstacles in their lives.
