Chocolate Lovers 5K Supports Student Study Abroad Program
DOVER – Every day was an adventure and I learned something new about the history, culture, food, traditions, and most importantly, the people: an amazing experience!" relates a Delaware Tech Terry Campus student about the Study Abroad program.
Study Abroad allows Delaware Tech students the experience of a lifetime as they immerse themselves in the cultures of Spain, Belize, Russia, London or Denmark. Visiting these countries, they will speak the language, taste the cuisine, and see a diverse blend of people, architecture, history and religion.
For many students, the cost of an overseas educational adventure is unaffordable, but once a year, the community comes out to support them by raising money for scholarships to help offset the cost of their trips.
“This year, the Terry Campus Development Council has come up with a sweet treat for our college community, friends and families,” says Lisa Peel, International Education coordinator. “The Valentine Chocolate Lovers 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, February 16th at the Terry Campus will be capped off with an amazing array of post-race chocolate foods and hot chocolate!”
Participants can share the Valentine love this year by running, walking, or even staying in bed and registering as a “sleeper.” No matter how fast you move (or not), you will still get the T-shirt! Registration is $20 until Feb. 11, then $25 after and on the event day.
