Alpha Beta Kappa garners four awards at regional convention
DOVER - The Terry Campus Alpha Beta Kappa Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa national honor society received several recognitions of excellence at the Mini Honors and Regional Convention, held Feb. 28 to March 2 in Baltimore. Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in the U.S. for two-year colleges, with more than 2.5 million members and 1,280 chapters worldwide.
Chapter Advisor Charles Whealton was recognized for his contributions as a first-year advisor with Phi Theta Kappa’s Horizon Award. The 2013 Chapter Communications Award was won for the website created by chapter webmaster Eric Satter. Chapter President Jason Wallace led his team to earn the Five Star Chapter Development Plan and Distinguished Officer Team 2013 awards. Other Chapter members attending the convention were Vice President Jennifer Hamblin, Brandi Cunningham, and Treasurer Riana Bright. Dr. Lester Link, chapter advisor, also attended the convention.
