Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Wins Hallmark Award
STANTON – The Stanton Campus chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honor society was awarded the 2013 College Project Hallmark Award at the 26th Phi Theta Kappa Middle States Regional Convention. Members of the chapter, as well as the Chapter Advisor, Delaware Tech Math Instructor Ann Carter and Criminal Justice/Social Sciences Instructional Coordinator Virginia Sticinski, worked closely with Student Affairs to develop and execute an inclusive Student Success Seminar Series during the fall semester.
The Middle States Region Hallmark Awards Program is a competitive awards program that recognizes individuals and chapters for excellence in the Society’s Hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship. This awards program is one which reflects the scholarly ideals of Phi Theta Kappa. The program consists of a competition between chapters.
In addition to this honor, Delaware Tech’s Patricia Van Atter was selected to receive Phi Theta Kappa’s 2013 Board of Directors Alumni Achievement Award. This is a national award that has only been given to 18 recipients. Ms. Van Atter serves as the Testing Center Coordinator at the Wilmington Campus and is a Co-Advisor of the Stanton Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. She serves Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society as the Regional Coordinator.
