Delaware Tech to Host Saturday Before the Season on November 23
GEORGETOWN - Delaware Tech will host a day of elegant fashion and pre-holiday shopping on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013. The Saturday Before the Season event will include the College’s sixth annual Fashion Show, as well as a unique shopping opportunity – The Village Shoppes, which will offer visitors the opportunity to peruse a collection of local boutiques and restaurants under one roof.
The $35 Fashion Show ticket includes a wine and cheese reception with open seating for the show, which will take place from 1 - 3 p.m. All proceeds from the show benefit international education programs at Delaware Tech’s Owens Campus. Funds raised from the event support study abroad scholarships for students, as well as the Global Understanding Series, a series of workshops and presentations open to students and the community for free.
The Village Shoppes is a shopping bazaar on campus that will be open to the general public from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. with no charge for admission. In addition to offering shoppers the chance to enjoy many regional boutiques and restaurants, there will be a variety of “how to” demonstrations during the day on topics related to fashion, skincare, and wellness.
The Fashion Show each year is the result of hard work by a committee of dedicated volunteers and Delaware Tech staff members. This year’s committee chairwoman is Rozi Berberian with Robert Sessa as co-chairman. Caitlyn Timko, student government president, and Denise Berry, student life coordinator, are the co-chairs from the College.
