Learning Community Students Participate in Scholars Day

Students participating in a Learning Community guided by instructors Sue Hudson and Patti Gallo recently had the honor of participating in Scholars Day on April 12, 2017 at Wesley College.
Scholars Day consists of presentations and performances that demonstrate scholarly achievements and research by students. The program is attended by peers of the participating students as well as faculty, staff, family members of the presenters and the public.
Delaware Tech’s students took part in the poster presentations, where posters reflect various scientific research topics and the results of other student discipline studies. Participating students were Jersey De Mesa (poster on the Association of Vogt Koyanagi Harada Disease and Rheumatoid Arthritis), Samantha Land (Elderly Patient's Cognition), Samantha McDonald (Female Genital Mutilation), Alyssa Pierce (Pet Therapy and Autism) and Kezban Yilmaz (Postpartum Depression and Postpartum Psychosis).
During the poster session, the presenters interacted and answered questions from members of the campus community and other attendees.
Scholars Day is sponsored in part by the DE-INBRE and the DE-EPSCoR grants.
